I named my domain blakslee.com after my grandfather Harold R. Blakslee. Born in 1889, he grew up in much the manner that his father, and his grandfather did. Horse and buggy to travel all day between towns that took me ten minutes riding a bus to school on in the 1970's.

He served with the 94th squadron in France in 1918 as an aircraft mechanic and machinist. He was on the bleeding edge (literally, due to the war)of the high-tech technology of the day.

He went on to see live pictures of men landing on the moon in 1969, and pictures from Mars in the 70's. He flew in 727s. His generation saw the most drastic change in technology and changes in living than any other generation of people in history.

While our generation and our children's generations will see great changes, we now expect and have grown up with this change. My grandfather's generation had no such expectations, other than in the whimsical musing of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.

One can only imagine what he, and others of his generation, to first see man take wing to the skies, to discover the wonder of receiving radio broadcasts, and later television transmissions. Technology that has literally changed the way humans survive and live. What a ride it was for them.

So to my grandfather, and others of his generation, I dedicate this web site.
